Magnificent Mermaid 6th Birthday Party

Aaliyah turned 6 and mom Nafiesa did not want to hold anything back but wanted everything that could make this little girl feel like a real special mermaid!  My work was cut out for me and I immediately started with the planning.  I had ONE week to create the party of little Aaliyah's dreams. We worked with soft colours such as sea green, turquoise and  a touch of pink and purple.  Each child received an edible "message in a bottle" which I displayed in brown sugar to make it look like sea sand. We had candy floss in the most amazing colours displayed as "ice-cream" with wafer sticks. The cake pops I had made came out STUNNING!!  The handmade "treasure chests" were a big hit as well as the "starfish surpise" in hessian bags I made.  The cake was made with different layers of colours inside the cake, displaying ruffles outside - amazing.

Animal Farm Birthday Party

Mom Tazneem wanted a fun and colourful animal party for her little boys' birthday.  We decided on light blue with fun colours such as orange and green.  We added hessian to create the "farm" feel and each child had a bale of hay for a chair. Their favourite animals are an elephant and a lion, we therefore focused on these two on the main table. Although the wind was terrible and we had to fasten EVERYTHING with pins, the kids were having an absolute wild animal party!

THIRTY AND TWO Birthday Party

Today I am sharing my very own 30th birthday party which I held together with my husband who was turning 32, hence the theme THIRTY AND TWO. I was thinking this would be an awesome wedding inspiration idea. Guests had to dress up as ONE of the letters in THIRTY AND TWO.  The decor was slightly set in the nineties and we therefore decided to go with colours such as black, white and purple.  Each guest received a favour bag on their seat with a tag which read:  Fill me with candy and take me home.  Outside we had a black and white "lounge" area set up for guests to relax before and after dinner.  I wish I had think about giving a prize to the best dressed!! It was such fun having everyone dressed up!!  This is surely a party I will remember forever....

Helicopter Inspired Birthday Party

Sion loves anything to do with a helicopter, so mother Jana decided to make that the theme of the party. The colours she gave me to work on were navy, brown and red (and a little bit of white). Definitely different - just the way I like it:-)
